Decorating with sense...

This is my husband's space...We both love western decor, so we this room is done in all rustic western decor...I have a picture of Sitting Bull on the mantel, along with an old Sombrero..I just purchased the armoire here in OKC....and to top it off I have a rawhide rug that is too cool.. :)

Here's another shot of the room...I have an old carriage wheel with a steam trunk behind the couch...I love old stuff...

There is something about antique and nostalgic decor that adds a certain something to a room...I think adding old stuff with new is homey....Realistically, everyone always mixes family heirlooms with their decor....or their is a budget....These days with the price of gas, not everyone can afford to just go out and buy expensive things...I think if its not on sale or not at an estate sale, then it's not for me....LOL.....Thus, You now see why I decorate the way I do....And why we can all relate on RMS...I love getting new ideas from the ladies and gents on RMS, but I hate the rude comments...I think you can give advice without being mean....I don't understand some of the ratings that people get either...They are just way to low...People can be so mean and jealous of a person's talent...But here I go I can't seem to shut up....I love blogging...It's fun and I can talk to nice people and relate to them through their blogs...Well...I'm gonna sign off now and say that I can't wait for tomorrow to create something new... God Bless You All Monta

What a small world. I found your blog and thought to myself "that looks like a house that could be in OK!" I live in Shawnee and started my blog when I had a booth at The Market. Now I just decorate homes until I can get a store up and running closer to my home. You have a gorgeous house. I am a huge "house junkie" and I love to go to OKC for the Parade of Homes etc. I am decorating a "lodgy, western home right now and it is so much fun. Smiles, Paula

Oh man, am I glad you found me! Let me just say that I think you and I could be great friends. I don't even know where to start about how much I love your house--right down to the perfect mums for your Halloween decor. However, what I think annoys me most is how young you look for how "mature" you say you are. That just can't be true. Welcome to blogging!! I'll be back!

Hi Monta- Finally got here to say thanks for stopping by my blog and must say I am blown away. Love your decorating, the blog, and those BOOTS! Can see why you spent most of your money on them! I've never owned a pair, but I'm thinking maybe for this winter. Are they comfortable??? Please stop over for a piece of pie...Nancy

Thanks for visiting my blog and for your kind comments!

I share your love of yard sales and repurposing items for our homes.
Stop by, if you have a chance...I'm hosting a "perfectly imperfect" week, and I'd love you to participate!!

Have a great week!
